Bio
Joshua E. Santiago is a third-year doctoral candidate and teaching assistant in the College of Communication and Information. He has also the recipient of the Lyman T. Johnson Fellowship from the Graduate School. Joshua is a health and organizational communication scholar whose research focuses on specializing in health-related organizational communication that examines the impact of physical design on communication, work processes, and patient outcomes in health organizations. Most recently, his research has been applied to improve patient safety outcomes through communication in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Joshua has presented research at the International Communication Association, National Communication Association, and Western States Communication Association convention. His scholarship has been published in the Journal of Health Communication, Health Communication, and Health Environments Research & Design. Joshua is being advised by Kevin Real, PhD.
