Lisa Huddleston is currently a third-year doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant at the University of Kentucky. Lisa's research interests are in health communication, with a specific focus on patient-provider relationships, and how communication within those relationships can be enhanced to facilitate optimal patient experiences. Lisa has also worked on social marketing projects, including a recent project addressing vaccine hesitancy among college students. Currently she is involved in research that explores the role of built environment within hospitals -- particularly the impact that built environment has on interprofessional communication and teamwork among staff. She has an extensive background as a communications practitioner in the health care field -- having worked in marketing/public relations for a large Cincinnati-based hospital system; as a grant writer for a community health improvement organization; as a communications manager for a Cincinnati-based hospital trade organization; and most recently as a communications specialist, focusing on patient experience, for a health care system in Northern Kentucky.
