The Department of Communication is one of three units in the College of Communication and Information. We offer Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees for undergraduate Communication majors and teach most of the graduate courses leading to a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Communication through the College’s Graduate Program in Communication. We are noted for our emphasis in health communication, as reflected by our ranking by the National Communication Association as 6th in the nation in health communication doctoral programs. We enjoy unparalleled research technology support and are one of the most highly funded communication departments in the nation.
Faculty in the Department of Communication are actively engaged in social science research and community outreach, which provides our students with the opportunity to learn about the latest theoretical breakthroughs and practical applications firsthand.
