Greetings! Summertime at the University of Kentucky is a great time to reflect on many of our faculty, student, and staff accomplishments. We ended the spring term with our College Awards Ceremony celebrating our student achievements and students earning College Dean’s List honors. In May, we celebrated with a record number of graduating seniors. We look forward to hearing about your professional success! This summer, we have a number of undergraduate students traveling abroad with faculty this summer to study in Peru, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. We look forward to sharing their pictures on our website.
I am also delighted to welcome Ms. Hannah Trusty to the Department of Communication as my new office and project manager. Hannah joins the Department from the Office of Undergraduate Education with deep experience working on student, faculty, financial, and programmatic initiatives.
Hannah has been working with Mr. Scott Johnson, Director of Research and Instructional Technology, to update our website and alumni contacts databases. If you have not been in touch with us over the past year, please send us a brief. We have some exciting events planned for 2015, and we would like to involve more alumni from our program in departmental activities.
As the summer closes, I hope that you will be in touch with us to share your news of personal and professional success. We are always looking for communication professionals to participate in our Professional Amateur Day and other student networking events. Please contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let me know if you are a local alumnus about to mentor or share your experiences with our students.
I wish you a wonderful summer.
All the best,
Elisia L. Cohen, Ph.D
Chair, Department of Communication
