Examines theory and research on the nature and development of small group communication. Topics include leadership, interpersonal relations and roles, goals, and decision-making in multiple organizational contexts.Learning Outcomes
• Master the concepts and vocabulary of leadership and team theory, and use that language appropriately;• Recognize and develop a more complex understanding of the theories and principles of group communication, especially systems and network analysis, that are the basis for a variety of teams and leadership situations and contexts;
• Understand interdependence processes within and across groups in institutional contexts;
• Develop analytical skills, especially for professions such as research, consulting, and management.
