Any student wishing to minor in Communication must meet college selective admission requirements (45 credits completed, 30 credits USP courses, COM 101 completed, and have a 2.6 cumulative GPA). The student must file an application for the minor in the Department of Communication (227 Grehan Building).
If you declared your COM minor after July 1, 2011 in 105 Grehan, then follow these requirements.
If you declared your COM minor prior to July 1, 2011, the follow the requirements below:
Complete the following two courses:
- COM 101 – Introduction to Communication
- COM 287 – Persuasive Speaking
Complete TWO of the following courses:
- COM 249 – Mass Media and Mass Culture
- COM 252 – Interpersonal Communication
- COM 281 – Small Group Communication
Complete TWO of the following courses:
- COM 311- Patient/Provider Communication
- COM 312- Intercultural Communication in the Media
- COM 313- Interpersonal Relationships
- COM 314- Dark Side of Interpersonal Communication
- COM 315- Understanding Workplace Communication
