The end of the semester is always bittersweet, however this semester is closing with celebration and successes.
The department hosted another fantastic internship fair, that was the highlight of multiple events hosted by the College of Communication and Information designed to help CI majors learn more about internships as well as prepare for their careers. Organizations that participated in the fair came from a variety of industry sectors including technology, marketing, political, and nonprofit.
The biennial Kentucky Conference on Health Communication was held this past April. The overall air of KCHC is to promote health communication research and practice. The theme of the 2018 conference was 21st Century Cures Act: The Role of Communication and Information Science.
We are also saying goodbye to our colleagues and friends, Professors Doug Boyd and Cyndy Miller, who are retiring at the end of the year. While we celebrate their distinguished careers, we will miss them greatly and know the Department will not be the same without them!
Finally, we look to the future, as we prepare to move out of the Grehan Journalism Building that has been our home for nearly 70 years. The Grehan Journalism Building will be undergoing a complete renovation as part of a larger project to make the campus more contemporary. We will keep you posted on the renovations while we settle into our temporary home in Blazer Hall.
Thank you for your continued support and have a great summer!
