Stoltzfus_KimberlyDr. Kimberly Stoltzfus has received a $1500 grant from UK Education Abroad to develop a new education abroad program in Geneva, Switzerland for summer 2017. Co-led by Todd Stoltzfus, director of UK’s Certified Nonprofit Professional program, the three-week education abroad course will be entitled “Global Crisis and Response: The United Nations and International NGOs.” This communication course will enrich students’ understanding of real world issues and problems that undergird global responses to terrorism, humanitarian emergencies, and other international crises. Kim will use the grant to travel to Geneva this summer with Todd to meet with representatives from several UN and other international agencies to plan the course curriculum, to schedule site visits and to secure housing and other travel necessities for students. Applications for this program will be available in fall 2016.
